The 9/11 Museum and Memorial in New York City commemorate the fatalities of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. This site, occupying the area where the Twin Towers once stood, includes a collection of material focusing on the events of that day and related topics such as the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. It honors those who died in these incidents and provides a reminder of one of America's darkest days.

It includes a large-scale model of Ground Zero and exhibits some of the difficulties encountered in the process, as well as artwork created by local artists following this tragedy.
The "September 11th: The Day That Changed The World" exhibit examines the events of that day through archival footage and audio recordings. It offers visitors an insight into the lasting impact of the September 11th attacks on American society.

Circle Line NYC Landmark Cruise highlights

The Statue of Liberty – she needs no introduction, but here's a fun fact - Lady Liberty was actually constructed piece by piece in France and then shipped across the Atlantic.
Ellis Island Museum – this gateway to the United States shuffled millions of immigrants through its bureaucratic documentation center between 1892 and 1954. But after 1924 when the initial swells of seafaring immigrants had died down, Ellis Island became a deportation and detention processing station.
Brooklyn Bridge – this feat of structural engineering is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States built from limestone, granite, and cement. It connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn over the East River.
Empire State Building – instantly recognizable by its characteristic Art Deco architecture, the Empire State building towers above the skyline from the waters around Manhattan, all 102 floors of it.
Chrysler Building – another Art Deco landmark that sits at the crossroads of 42nd and Lexington. This building’s history shows something of a rivalry in the “race to the top” in the early days of skyscrapers. The Chrysler Building held the record as the tallest building for nearly a year before the construction of the Empire State Building was completed.
United Nations – the headquarters of the United Nations grace this prestigious location in the Big Apple, serving as a hub of international decision-making, peacekeeping talks, and other important matters that affect international relations across the globe.

Madame Tussauds facts

Marie Tussaud's first sculpture was Francois Voltaire - she made it when she was just 16.
The smallest figure Madame Tussauds has ever made is Tinker Bell and the biggest is The Incredible Hulk.
To make each figure, more than 250 precise measurements and 180 photographs are taken and videos of the person are studied.
It's all about the little touches. The veins in each wax eyeball are created using red silk thread while knotted rope is used to create the look of veins on the body.
Madame Tussauds opened in New York in 2000 and was the second American site to open after Las Vegas.
It takes approximately 350 hours to create a wax figure, and the process closely resembles the one used by Madame Tussaud.

Put your pedal to the metal with New York tours on two wheels

Experience the Brooklyn Bridge bike tour by Unlimited Biking with zooFamily

Pay nothing at the gate – simply scan your digital pass
Enjoy a two-hour bike sightseeing tour of Brooklyn Bridge
Enjoy the views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor
Few suspension bridges boast National Landmark status like New York City's Brooklyn Bridge. Hop on your bike and see its best bits on this two-hour tour.
First, you’ll get your legs pumping with an uphill climb to the City Hall area. Then you'll make a stop at the Brooklyn-side tower of the bridge to get a selfie-worthy view of the New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Staten Island.
Descending into Brooklyn, you’ll see the Financial District and the historic Brooklyn houses in the ‘Heights’ before returning over the bridge to visit the South Street Seaport.

Brooklyn Bridge facts:

Brooklyn Bridge was an early feminist victory. Emily Warren Roebling was the driving force behind the bridge's completion after her husband, the chief engineer Washington Augustus Roebling, developed decompression sickness. She later earned a degree in law and published essays on gender equality.
In 1894, the 'greatest showman' P.T. Barnum was tasked by the city to prove how sturdy the bridge was. His solution? March 21 elephants across it. Can't get much sturdier than that.

Why The Hop On Hop Off Bus in New York?

Exploring New York City can be a daunting task, especially for first-time visitors. The city is vast and has so much to offer that it's hard to know where to start. One of the best ways to see the city is by using the Hop On Hop Off New York service provided by Big Bus NYC. The concept of hop on hop off buses has been around for many years, but it's still one of the most popular ways to explore cities worldwide. It's an excellent option for those who want to get a general overview of a city before deciding which areas they would like to explore in-depth.
The Hop On Hop Off New York service provided by Big Bus NYC offers several routes that cover all major tourist attractions in the city. Passengers can board at any stop along the route and stay on until they reach their desired destination. Once there, they can disembark and explore the area at their leisure before hopping back on another bus when they're ready.
One of the advantages of using this service is that passengers have unlimited access to all routes during their ticket validity period. This means you can take as many trips as you wish during your stay in New York City, allowing you to experience more than one route if time permits.
Another significant advantage of using a hop on hop off bus in NYC is that it saves time and effort compared to other modes of transportation such as taxis or public transport. With traffic congestion being a common problem in Manhattan, taking a taxi or driving yourself may not be the best option for exploring the city.
Furthermore, with public transport systems such as subways and buses having complex networks, it can be challenging for tourists unfamiliar with them to navigate through them effectively. Using a hop on hop off bus eliminates these problems as passengers are taken directly to each attraction without needing to worry about directions or getting lost.
The Hop On Hop Off New York service also provides tourists with an informative commentary throughout their trip. This commentary highlights interesting facts about each attraction passed along the way, making it an educational experience too.
For those who prefer a more personalized tour experience, Big Bus NYC also offers private tours that cater specifically to individual preferences. These tours allow you to design your itinerary based on what interests you most while ensuring maximum flexibility with regard to timing and duration.
Overall, using a hop-on hop-off bus in NYC is an excellent way for tourists to explore all that this incredible city has to offer without worrying about navigation or transportation issues. With its convenience, flexibility and informative commentary, it's no wonder why this service continues growing in popularity among tourists visiting New York City from around the world.
